The Weather Forecast

Warm weather with a gentle breeze

Was forecast for one day last week.

I froze in cold Siberia.

Any yesterday they said

An early mist would soon give way to sun.

All day I could not see for fog.

So temperate these forecasts

                  And so pleasant,

And none of them accords with how I feel.

The dissonance causes me -

Dire discomfort.

Today the rain could flood the driest desert.

Tomorrow this same rain will freeze

And with the snow (falling all day)

Will make Antarctica.

Believe me, it will seem so,

For I am my own barometer

And that is my prediction.
